Quality Assurance Manager

 

HABCO Inc , a Glastonbury , CT based engineering and manufacturing company, with roots in the aerospace industry, has an immediate need for a Quality Assurance Manager. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives that are in alignment with our corporate Policy Deployment goals and strategies.
  • Design and implement quality assurance training programs for our plant manufacturing personnel, engineering department and our management.
  • Conduct quality engineering review of design documentation to ensure compliance with stated external and internal parameters.
  • Help coordinate quality audits using a process approach
  • Develop new approaches to resolve quality problems identified during quality audits or ongoing quality assurance activities.
  • Prepare and present technical and quality assurance program reports to management periodically via management review meetings.
  • Investigate and correct customer complaints relating to quality.
  • Manage and develop personnel engaged in our quality assurance activities.
  • Manage and ensure the compliance with our AS9100/ ISO 9001 Management System.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years directly related experience, including QA management background, in a similar type of industry and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Must be familiar with the AS9100/ ISO 9001 Standards.
  • Background in Lean Manufacturing highly preferential.
  • Knowledge of poka-yoke, PDCA, six sigma and other techniques a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports, make presentations, etc.
  • Ability to influence, lead and work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

QC - Inspector

Hartford based Industrial Fastener / Industrial Products wholesale distributor is seeking QC – Inspector.

Evaluates finished purchased parts, equipment and assemblies and determines acceptance or rejection by reviewing applicable standards, blueprints, drawings and/or schematics, and must be capable of driving a fork lift and using extensive array of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tri-roll thread measurement, ring gages, torque wrenches); requires basic training in inspection techniques and principles. Assists in part identification of customer samples, blueprints, vendor/customer returns and control of non-conforming products.

 

Must be capable of reading manufacturing blueprints with respect to dimensional and material information. Should be familiar with root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action documentation.
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, (including business correspondence), and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, prospects, clients, customers, and other technical personnel regarding quality issues.
Should have knowledge of all Microsoft “Office” software packages including Word Processing software, Excel (spreadsheets), Access (data base), and a working knowledge of Internet access, database software; inventory software; order processing systems; spreadsheet software and word processing software.

While we are seeking a Full-time hire, we would consider a more experienced person on a Part-time basis.

Quality Control/Inspector

Position Available Immediately

DG Precision Mfg. is looking for an individual to handle all the responsibilities associated with the Quality Control department of a Precision Machining Company. Duties are, but not limited to, performing or monitoring all first piece, in process, and final inspections, maintaining records of inspections, Corrective Actions, and Audits, and maintaining the gage calibration system.

The individual must have a good working knowledge of all instrumentation associated with inspection of precision machined parts, good organizational skills and able to work independently.

DG Precision Mfg. is a 3rd generation family run business in operation for over 60 years. It is a growing company with state of the art CNC equipment. The company presently has 10 employees and is located in rural Woodbury, CT.
