VALUE STREAM MAPPING FOR LEAN IMPLEMENTATION

Presented by: Ed Arnheiter

WHEN: See schedule for dates

8:00 am - 4:00 pm (2 Days)

WHERE: CQC at Rensselaer Hartford

WORKSHOP SYNOPSIS:

Part 1 of this two-day workshop provides decision-makers with the fundamental background necessary to understand process performance metrics. Students learn how to analyze, measure, and improve the flow of work through any system by using key relationships between cycle time, lead time, work-in-process, throughput, capacity, and take time. Students will discover that relying on intuition alone to guide process improvement is risky business. Understanding some of the counterintuitive facts of process analysis is an important first step towards improving system performance.

In Part 2 of the program, by building upon the terms and concepts presented in Part 1, students will learn the fundamentals of value stream mapping and how this method can be used to develop implementation plans to install lean management systems. The course material includes a copy of the popular book Learning to See. This is a hands-on seminar that uses examples developed from the instructor’s professional experience, as well as exercises from published field cases.
