WORKSHOP SYNOPSIS:
The art of managing the collaborative brain power and resources of a group to achieve a high level of results is sometimes called facilitation. A facilitator isn't the traditional "leadership" role, but rather a frequently even more difficult "supportive" function. "Not the sage on the stage, but rather the guide from the side," the facilitator must constantly be aware of the process of the group. Not just what they are doing (the task), but how they are doing it, and be ready to offer techniques, suggestions, feedback, or interventions that will assist the group in continuing to work together effectively and to move forward positively.
This two-day interactive workshop is intended to provide basic training in the role of facilitator and the tools for building teams and developing consensus. Using a constructive feedback process, each participant will have at least one opportunity to practice facilitation and receive personal feedback, as well as many opportunities to observe and provide feedback to the other learners in their practice group.
