WORKSHOP SYNOPSIS:
All businesses run on both on intellectual and human capital. Most are hired and promoted based on a combination
of their technical expertise and degrees. Research has shown that more is required to succeed and thrive
both as an individual contributor and manager of others in today’s competitive global economy. This course will
explore an ability based approach to emotional intelligence both as a personal and team development tool with
a focus on interpersonal and leadership development. Participants will be trained in a four stage model of emotional
intelligence and its application in the workplace for both team and individual development.
Participants can expect to:
*Learn about an ability based model of emotional intelligence
*Be trained in the four discrete areas of emotional intelligence
which include: Perceiving, Using, Understanding and Managing emotions.
* Examine case scenarios demonstrating the use of the four discrete areas of intelligence
* Take part in recognition exercises to facilitate their knowledge of
emotional intelligence.
*Engage in consensus discussions in determining best applications of emotionally intelligent decision
making.
