Coaching for Technical Managers is founded on the premise that leaders are expected to help their staff grow and develop. They must use their coaching skills to help average employees become good and good employees become  great. This program is valuable for all managers interested in sharpening their coaching skills and having difficult conversations with their direct reports. However,technical managers often face anespecially difficult challenge because their initial success has been in their technical competency, not in their ability to manage and coach others. We have incorporated special content into the program designed to make this transition clearer and easier.In Coaching for Technical Managers,you will discuss the components of an effective coaching relationship,from establishing rapport to rewarding excellent performance.You will receive feedback using a multi-rater instrument specifically focused on coaching behaviors.A model designed to provide a specific plan of action for approaching coaching situations will be presented and used as part of the activities. This program helps you understand behavior and what interests different people and leads to their commitment.If you know what really excites them, you can help them perform to their maximum.
